I stumbled upon dogsRbarkin’s website when I researched dog walkers in South Boston.  What caught my eye about dogsRbarkin was the amount of services they provide and that they had the best rates in Southie.  Most services charge 18 bucks for just a walk.  dogsRbarkin charges that rate for an entire hour or so for playgroups.  This company has the best ideas and Mike, the owner, is extremely professional and always available at the drop of a hat.  I feel very fortunate to have Mike as a walker.  My dog absolutely loves him and she has honestly been a much happier pooch since she has been socializing with all the dog’s in Mike’s playgroups.  My dog gets so much exercise which she really needs because she is so active.  I would recommend dogsRbarkin to anyone who is looking for great rates and a responsible, trustworthy, and friendly walker/runner.  Mike has helped me out on so many different occasions and I can tell he really cares about his clients and first-rate customer service.  dogsRbarkin has it all! Bauer

We have used dogsRbarkin every weekday for almost two years now and absolutely LOVE them! Mike and his team are the best! We know that our boy Bauer is in the best hands while we are at work and that he is getting the play time he needs with all of his buddies. We know that he loves them too by how excited he gets when they pick him up on days we happen to be home. Mike is super responsive, reliable and goes above and beyond for his regular clients. On many occasions they have done a last minute walk and dinner feeding when we couldn’t get home and we are so grateful for that. I know I’ve only been using you for a few months, but I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am that I switched to dogsRbarkin!  I love the system that you use with the “petReport” so I know when Cody was out and what he did, plus the little notes are fun to read.  Whenever Cody is walked I come home to a calm (for him!) and happy dog.  I know he’s gotten great exercise and had some socialization with other dogs.  You have been great with changes to his schedule and so responsive when I’ve had any concerns…like his bathroom issues from the beginning of the week.  It was so thoughtful of you to check in that night to see how he was doing.  It’s such a relief to know that Cody is in good hands – and with a person who really cares for him.  A small thing but a nice added bonus are the bags – it’s been great to not have to think about picking them up at the store.  I’d wholeheartedly recommend you, so feel free to pass along my name if anyone is looking for a reference.  Thanks for everything Mike!  It’s been such a great experience so far!  –  Katie (Cody)

We heard about dogsRbarkin through a friend, and after a couple of tough dog walkers we decided to give Mike a try. Our lab Sam tends to be a little nervous when he’s out walking, but immediately bonded with mike. He does a great job not only placing your dog with a good group to bond, but easily identifies how to help you pooch with his or her shortcomings!  He’s professional, trustworthy, dependable, and a great value for the money.  Like the other review above, we’ve been in a few jams and mike has always been available at short notice.  We highly recommend Dogsrbarkin.  –  Brian (Sam)

Monster

I found dogsRbarkin through a Google search and am glad I did.  Mike is great with my dog and has watched him for the weekend and taken him on walks when we can’t get home in time.  One day, my boyfriend called him to see when he took our dog out earlier that day.  Because he was driving by our apartment, he stopped in and let our dog our to go to the bathroom again so we didn’t have to rush home.  I’m sure he will get more popular and may not be able to do things like this as much in the future, but I think that was above and beyond.  (Not to mention very helpful).  He also sends tons of photos and even video of my dog having fun when I’m away.  I’m a nervous dog mom, so I really appreciate things like that.  Finally, he’s extremely responsive when I send text messages checking up.  I definitely recommend dogsRbarkin and will continue to use “them”/Mike. – Carrie (Monster)

Logan

We cannot rate Mike and his team high enough.  

Mike has been looking after our dog since we adopted him almost a year ago.  In addition to all of the superlatives that everyone on this page has used (and they are all warranted), what we find most comforting is that Mike treats our dog (and, as we have seen, other clients’ dogs) as one of his own.  Our dog literally has “grown up” with Mike — from the twice-a-day puppy bathroom breaks/walks, to the longer walks, to the full-on play groups.  We also have used Mike when we have to be away for a long weekend or go on vacation.  And if our schedule changes for whatever reason (“we are going to be working from home tomorrow” “we have an after-work event that just popped up” etc.), all it takes is a quick text to Mike and he takes care of it.

Bodie

I was fortunate enough to find out about dogsRbarkin through my neighbor who uses Mike’s services. We had to go to a wedding this past weekend, with the climbing rates of the Southie boarding facilities I wanted to find an alternative and was extremely pleased with sending my dog to Mike. Before I scheduled the weekend Mike was happy to come to the house meet our dog Bodie and talk more about his services and what he does, which I was very appreciative of. The rates are more than reasonable; you can leave for a weekend and not break the bank to have someone watch your dog. I received text messages with adorable photos all weekend so I was able to see how Bodie was doing while I was away. Mike also was able to pick up and drop off our dog which was so convenient and I was thrilled to have one less thing on my list to do as soon as we got home. I feel more comfortable having Bodie stay with Mike than the other local places, at least I can get updates on what he has done over the weekend which is more than I can say for other places we have used.  I will be using dogsRbarkin for any overnights in the future and hopefully some play dates since the rate is so great and it is a great way to tucker the pup out! – Tara T (Bodie) 

Charlie

My husband and I rescued a dog and needed a dog walker ASAP. I found dogsRbarkin through a google search and Mike came to meet me and Charlie over the weekend (during the snowstorm!). Charlie took to Mike right away and we signed him up for the hour playgroups Monday through Friday. Mike posted photos and videos of Charlie playing the first few days and it made us feel so much better seeing him have a good time while we were at work! And, every time Charlie goes out with Mike, he sleeps all night because he is so exhausted from playing. Mike is also super flexible with his schedule and he is always very responsive.

One day, Mike even texted to tell me that he kept Charlie out for three hours so he might be tired that night. It made me feel so great that even though we were only paying for one hour, Mike kept him out for longer! Highly recommend if you are looking for a dog walker in Southie! Marty

Two words: Dog Whisperer. I have an elderly rescue; he is deaf, half blind and has some other health conditions due to years of neglect. While some may have turned Marty away, Mike didn’t flinch when I ran through his medical history. I’d originally  found Mike through a google search about 5 months ago when I was changing jobs and needed someone to come in and let Marty out mid-day. Mike came over to do an evaluation and was extremely professional. He had me fill out an very thorough evaluation, walked me through his process, and we began the short walks about a week later. He is always very flexible with my ever-changing schedule, will come in on short notice if I am going to be late, and leave great notes for me on how things went during the walk. Most importantly, Marty loves Mike and his team. I can’t recommend dogsRbarkin more to anyone that is looking for a great team of dog walkers and caretakers!  – Casey (Marty)
