Me & Toby

Hello! My name is Mike McLaughlin and I have lived in South Boston for the last 10 years. In early 2010 I was laid off from a telecom/construction gig and found myself at one of those, ‘well, now what?’ life crossroads. I realized I no longer wanted to answer to shareholders, ‘the man’, or big business market trends. As I searched job postings and applied for jobs I knew I didn’t want, the saying ‘If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life’ made me consider going into business for myself. As I was unlikely to get a job riding roller coasters, drinking beer, or traveling to tropical islands, I realized my biggest love was my dog Toby.  It was that moment I decided to enter the saturated market of dog walking in South Boston. It started slowly (to say the least), but a lot of hard work and some great ideas started to pay off one client at a time.
